The New Task
From October 1, 2021, I got a new appointment in the Polish Province of the Society of Divine Word. Because I was working in Indonesia for the last 3 years, Father Provincial Sylwester Grabowski SVD, asked me to prepare a special program for foreign confreres. My first dusty is to accompany missionaries from Asia who start working in our country. In the Mission Seminary Pieniężno they learn Polish language and apply for the residence permit to Poland. The Polish language is not the easiest one, so the inculturation program covers several semesters depending on the language proficiency. We currently have 7 missionaries - 2 from Vietnam and 5 from Indonesia, who persistently learn the Polish language.
The second important duty is teaching Latin at the Catholic Academy in Warsaw (ie Bobolanum). This job as a classical language teacher gives a lot of satisfaction, although it involves a weekly journey from Warmia to the capital city. In the religious studies program for lay students, I teach two groups.
In addition, I am still in touch with my friends in Indonesia. We try to organize financial aid for students and primary school pupils. We managed to start an exchange of letters in English between students from Indonesia and Poland. It's good that there are still some people who help those in need.
