Primary School
After breakfast, I decided to visit the elementary school in Sobo near Mangulewa. With sister Maria from this parish we climbed and came to the school. There the headmaster, Ibu Wilhelmina, was waiting for us.
About 10:00 a.m. we started teaching children. Sister met with one class and I with the other. I taught prayers such as the sign of cross, Hail Mary and Our Father in English. Children are very enthusiastic and want to learn a new language. They were quite fluent because they had studied these prayers in the kindergarten.
In this school there is a place for playing soccer and walking. Children can rest there because the place is very quiet and far from the main road. Around there are only gardens and forests. When we walked to the school, we also saw horses and cows. We didn't really know the place, but there were people from the village who helped us and showed us the way.
Before 12:00 we drank tea and ate bread with the teacher. We had time to take pictures in front of the school. Then we went home and talked about Indonesia and Poland. Indonesians usually want to know about food and weather in Europa. Therefore, I answered and told them about life in Poland.
