Prayers of SVD

May the darkness of sin
and the night of unbelief vanish before the light of the Word
and the Spirit of grace
and may the Heart of Jesus live
in the hearts of all people.

Meeting with Couples

"What needs to be done in order to keep the relationship of a married couple intact, harmonious and deep?" A young mother asked a psychologist in a talk show which I watched with my community this afternoon. The psychologist's answer attracted me: "Create a minimum of 15 minutes every day when you are with your partner. Try to talk about yourself and important things like feelings, dreams, etc. without interference from cellphones, children or work”.
I think that answer is also suitable for people who choose to live religious life. The time of meeting with Jesus is a crutial key to build an intimate and warm relationship with Him, yourself, others and the universe.
The theme of the show was also a good material for my dialogue with Jesus in my prayer. How do I try and fill my time with Him everyday? The television program helped me to be more present before God and to live my daily life calmly and consciously.
For a moment I saw my community life. I am thankful that in our community we are still blessed by God with unity and warmth. The mission work entrusted by God also helps us to grow slowly and brings us joy. We thank God for His faithful love and grace.
During my prayer the figure of President Joko Widodo was also present. I am grateful to God for his gift to Indonesia. Because the president is always among our people when Indonesia struggles, grieves, and developes. Like a faithful father he keeps us united.
In my prayers I also remember and give thanks for Josef; friend, brother and companion in the call that God has given us. From him I learn to be faithful in Bible sharing and interpreting everyday of my life.
Finally, I reflected on Jesus the Teacher who helps us understand that the Kingdom of God invites us to be more open and authentic in my religious life.
