Listen with the Heart
This morning it was still quiet when I set my foot towards the chapel. There we were preparing ourselves for the mission activities. We sat in a circle and listened with the faith. In the chapel we heard the sound of birds chirping and some insects around the monastery's garden making noise. The morning air was so fresh that it gave us a new spirit. Silence and meditation on the Word of God help us to get to know ourselves and God's will.
The daily readings invited us to learn from Paul's call. He always cooperates with the grace of God. The openness to God's invitation enables Paul to turn from his path to God's path. From Martha and Mary in the Gospel of Luke we can see our personal calling and spiritual identity.
The grace of listening is the power that God gave and also asked of us. Thus, God helps us to be more compassionate towards others, to act more calmly, to prepare and to carry our tasks with joy.
